Recent news point out that Dell is also preparing to enter to the ultrabook world with an upcoming ultra thin and light notebook. Or should we say it’s trying once again. If you recall it, the company had another tentative about two years ago with two machines: Adamo 13 and later with the Adamo XPS.
Unfortunately, none of them was sucessful enough to compete with Apple’s MacBook Air, but, Dell didn’t lose its faith. That is why, they are working on a new product which is about to be released at the end of the year or back in January 2012; probably at CES tradeshow.
Word has it that Dell will release a new line of ultrabooks, this time ultraportable, high performant and powerful to be considered very competitive with Apple’s products. No details were given whether the company will use Intel’s Ivy Bridge architecture or not.
While Dell’s Adamo series have failed against Apple’s MackBook Airs with low sales and weak demands from consumers, all their hopes are now focused on the upcoming products which promise to be more succesfful than the previous ones.
MacBook Air is currently one of the best selling computer on the market, but Intel’s new concept of ultrabook has came out with some fine and great machines from manufacturer such as Toshiba, Acer or Asus. If Dell will have a chance with its upcoming products, we’ll find out soon.
